Last night, whilst playing on the Fryx Minecraft server, I was disconnected, and was unable to reconnect for the rest of the night. When I logged in again tonight, the server had been reset, deleting everything that had been created since the last server reset a couple of weeks ago.
To have this happen is very annoying – the first time Fryx was reset was because someone (or two people) griefed everything using TNT. I could understand why the server had to be reset, as the only backup was from a couple of weeks or a month prior to the griefing – it would have been more confusing to try to continue from this backup than to start afresh. But this latest reset has happened without warning and without reason. I have attempted to contact the owner of the server via Skype and checked on the thread on the Minecraft Forum, but I have been unable to contact him.
For this reason I have decided to change server, to find one that is more reliable and less prone to resets. One of the reasons I joined Fryx was because it was advertised as a server for mature players, but unfortunately some immature people joined and ruined it for the rest of us. So, I headed back to the Minecraft Forum, and searched the “Survival Servers” sub-forum for other vanilla servers for mature players.
I have applied to two such servers, and have currently been accepted into one of them – Kami Kraft. From now on I will be uploading videos to YouTube of me playing on this server. Let’s hope this is a more reliable server!
